Hetauda — A delegation from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Bagmati Province held discussions with Bagmati Province Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Saral Sahayatri Poudel on supporting the rehabilitation and economic recovery of families affected by the Bhote Koshi floods in Rasuwa.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, focused on developing a public-private partnership (PPP) model to support the long-term rehabilitation, livelihood recovery and employment creation for flood-affected families.
The delegation was led by FNCCI Bagmati Province President Bed Bahadur Shrestha and included Treasurer Rudra Bahadur Khatri and Executive Director Bibek Manandhar, among others.
During the meeting, Minister Poudel expressed the provincial government’s commitment to strengthening cooperation among the provincial government, private sector and other stakeholders to implement concrete and results-oriented programs for disaster recovery and economic revitalization.
According to President Shrestha, the discussions also covered studying the necessary policy and legal procedures and developing an appropriate working framework to ensure that affected families can become economically self-reliant in the long term. The meeting also emphasized effectively mobilizing private-sector participation in the recovery process.
Land Acquired for FNCCI Bagmati Secretariat
Meanwhile, FNCCI Bagmati Province has acquired land for the construction of its provincial secretariat building.
According to the federation, one kattha of land located in Hetauda-17 has been transferred into the name of FNCCI. The land was previously registered in the name of Amit Agrawal, son of FNCCI Bagmati Province District and Municipal Vice President and former President of the Makwanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Krishna Kumar Gupta.
Gupta formally handed over the land ownership certificate to FNCCI Bagmati Province President Bed Bahadur Shrestha at the Land Administration Office. Treasurer Rudra Bahadur Khatri, Executive Director Bibek Manandhar and Office Assistant Rashmi Khanal were also present during the handover.
The newly acquired land is expected to facilitate the construction of a dedicated secretariat building for FNCCI Bagmati Province and strengthen its institutional operations.
