Fonepay Partners with Alipay+ to Enhance Digital Payments for Tourists in Nepal
Kathmandu – Fonepay, Nepal’s leading digital payment network, has officially entered into a partnership with Alipay+, a global cross-border mobile payment and marketing platform, in a move aimed at strengthening Nepal’s digital economy and making the country more accessible for international visitors.

The collaboration was formally announced at an event in Kathmandu attended by distinguished guests, including representatives from the Nepal Tourism Board, leading banks and financial institutions, tour operators, guides, media houses, and members of the business community.

Kiran Pandit, Executive Director of the Payment System Department at Nepal Rastra Bank, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Shubhash Chandra Ghimire, Director of the Payment System Department, delivered the keynote address.
Through this partnership, tourists visiting Nepal will now have the option to make secure and seamless digital transactions via Alipay+, helping them enjoy greater convenience while exploring the country. The initiative also supports Nepal’s broader goal of promoting cashless transactions, boosting tourism, and aligning with global digital payment trends.

According to Fonepay, the integration with Alipay+ is expected to not only enhance the experience of foreign travelers but also contribute to strengthening Nepal’s image as a digitally advanced, tourist-friendly destination.
