Kathmandu — Foton Motors Nepal has handed over 14 Foton TM1 electric pickup vehicles to Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket, strengthening the supermarket chain’s move toward electric vehicles for its commercial and logistics operations.
The handover was carried out by MAW Vridhi Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., the authorised operator of Foton Motors Nepal, under the theme “Together Towards a Greener Future.” The initiative highlights the growing use of electric commercial vehicles in Nepal’s business sector.
Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket plans to use the electric pickups for its logistics and distribution operations. The company said the adoption of electric vehicles reflects its focus on environmentally responsible business practices while also seeking efficient transportation solutions.
The Foton TM1 is an electric commercial pickup designed for urban and commercial transportation. Its use in delivery and distribution operations could help businesses reduce fuel-related expenses and emissions compared with conventional fuel-powered commercial vehicles.
Anil Kumar Baral, Chief Executive Officer of MAW Vridhi Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., said the partnership with Bhat-Bhateni represents growing confidence in electric commercial vehicles among Nepali businesses.
He said the company aims to provide reliable and modern electric vehicles suited to the changing transportation needs of businesses in Nepal.
Pahalman Gurung, Director of Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket, said the company has been giving attention to environmentally responsible operations and expressed confidence that the partnership would contribute to developing a more sustainable logistics system.
The handover comes as Nepal’s electric-vehicle market continues to expand beyond private passenger cars, with businesses increasingly exploring electric commercial vehicles for transportation and delivery.
The addition of 14 electric pickups to Bhat-Bhateni’s fleet marks another step toward the use of electric mobility in Nepal’s commercial sector and reflects the growing interest in cleaner transportation solutions for business operations.
