Free bus service to operate in Kathmandu on October 11and 12 by Nepal Police

In a move to facilitate travel during the Dashain festival, the Nepal Police has announced a free bus service for the public. This initiative aims to ease transportation challenges for citizens celebrating the major holiday.
The free bus service will operate on October 11 and 12, 2024 (Ashwin 25 and 26 in the Nepali calendar). There will be two designated routes available:
Route No. 1 will cover key locations, including New Buspark, Balaju, Swayambhu, Kalanki, Balkhu, Satdobato, Gwarko, Koteshwor, Sinamangal, Gaushala, Ratopul, Naxal, and Putalisadak, returning to New Buspark. The service will run in two shifts at 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM.
Route No. 2 will also operate in two shifts at 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, servicing areas such as Koteshwor, Baneshwor, Gaushala, Chabahil, Sukedhara, Bouddha, Gokarneshwor, Sallaghari, Bhaktapur, Thimi, and returning to the starting point.
The initiative is part of efforts by the authorities to ensure safe and convenient travel for citizens during the festive season, enhancing access to essential locations and encouraging community participation in the celebrations.
