Free food, lodging, and guides for Budhinanda visitors during Janai Purnima
Visitors to the renowned religious and tourist site Budhinanda in Bajura will receive free food, lodging, and guide services. This initiative will be available six days for those attending the Budhinanda mela during the Janai Purnima festival.
The Budhinanda Municipality, in collaboration with the youth group ‘Wild Bajura,’ is organizing this free pilgrimage. The annual Budhinanda pilgrimage begins on the tenth day of the bright fortnight in Shrawan and concludes on Janai Purnima. Many pilgrims flock to the shrine at an altitude of 15,000 feet to fulfill their wishes by walking barefoot.
This year, the pilgrimage will commence from Simkuru, Budhinanda on August 15 (Shrawan 31), passing through various sites, and conclude in Lade on August 21 (Bhadra 5). “Pilgrims will be provided with two meals a day and tents for accommodation throughout the journey,” said Manoj Regmi, an organizer from Wild Bajura.
Regmi highlighted the tradition of sharing food among pilgrims during the Budhinanda journey. “To preserve this tradition and facilitate the pilgrimage, we provided free food and lodging this year.
Budhinanda Municipality will offer financial support, and Wild Bajura will manage the trip,” he added. Additionally, guides will be available free of charge for those wishing to visit nearby attractions such as Dhaulipatan, Maharudra Lake, Kailash Lake, and others.
