Kathmandu — Consumers can now exchange liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders from different companies at 11 designated centres across the Kathmandu Valley, following an expansion of the service by the Nepal LP Gas Industry Association ahead of Dashain.
The exchange scheme, which began on Sunday at six centres to make gas supplies more convenient for consumers during the festive period, has been expanded to 11 locations from Monday. The initiative has been arranged in coordination with Nepal Oil Corporation and the Gas Vendors’ Federation.
The five additional centres are Bhanu Gas in Chapali, Budhanilkantha; Nepal Gas and HP Gas in Harisiddhi, Lalitpur; Geeta Gas in Kalanki; Sitashree Gas at RK Traders in Khasibazar; and Shrimaya Gas in Satungal.
The six centres already providing the service are Shree Ram Gas in Harisiddhi; Sai Baba and Shree Krishna Gas in Kalanki; Baba Gas and Shree Gas in Sukedhara; Nepal, HP, Geeta, Rajdhani and Triveni Gas in front of the Balaju Industrial Area gate; Sagar Gas in Pepsicola; and Everest Gas and Sugam Gas at Gas and Oxygen Traders in Sifalchaur.
The association has also revised the service schedule, shortening the exchange period by one day. The facility will now remain available only until October 16, with consumers able to visit the designated centres daily between 11:00 am and 4:30 pm.
The earlier schedule had allowed exchanges until October 17, starting at 9:30 am each day. However, the association has since revised both the closing date and operating hours.
Consumers should note that cylinders belonging to different gas companies can be exchanged only at the 11 designated centres. The association has clarified that the exchange service is not available at other retail shops or locations.
The expanded arrangement aims to make it easier for consumers to exchange cylinders from different companies during the Dashain period while ensuring that the service remains available through designated distribution points.
