Kathmandu – The ‘Gauravata Nepal’ campaign has been officially announced from the historic city of Kirtipur with the objective of promoting Nepal’s art, culture, language, traditions, clothing, cuisine and tourist destinations to the global audience.
The new campaign was announced during a press conference held on Sunday.
The campaign is being led by Firoz Singh, a local entrepreneur from Kirtipur and a figure associated with Nepal’s music sector. Singh began promoting Newari culture and traditions through the Sasa: The Newa Restaurant in 2010. He later expanded the initiative through Sasa Twa: Hospitality and has now introduced the ‘Gauravata Nepal’ concept to promote Nepal’s cultural identity on a broader scale.
According to Singh, the campaign has been developed despite challenges such as the 2015 earthquake, the economic blockade and the COVID-19 pandemic. He said Nepal possesses valuable heritage and a strong cultural identity that can contribute to the country’s prosperity if promoted effectively.
“We have valuable heritage and identity. If we can promote them properly, the journey toward prosperity is not difficult,” Singh said, adding that the campaign was launched with the message that Nepal is rich in pride and identity and can continue moving forward.
The campaign will be formally launched on October 10 through a grand musical concert by Nepal’s popular folk-rock band Nepathya. The campaign’s official website, Gauravata.com, will also be unveiled on the same day.
