Government launches suggestion portal for budget and policy input
Kathmandu-The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has launched a “Suggestion Collection Portal” to gather public feedback on the upcoming fiscal year’s budget and policy programs.
According to the secretariat of Prime Minister Balen Shah, the digital platform has been introduced to ensure direct public participation in the government’s policy and budget-making process. The government is set to unveil its policy and programs on Monday, while the national budget will be presented on Jestha 15.Through the portal, Nepali citizens living both in Nepal and abroad, along with subject experts and policymakers, will be able to directly submit their opinions and recommendations regarding budget planning and development priorities.Press and Research Advisor Deepa Dahal said the initiative reflects the Prime Minister’s vision of making policymaking more inclusive by valuing public sentiment and expert insight instead of limiting the process to administrative circles.
The Prime Minister’s Secretariat has claimed that the portal will help bridge the gap between citizens and the state while promoting a new practice of good governance.Dahal also stated that the system includes a special “suggestion tracking” feature, allowing citizens to monitor the status of their submissions and learn about the government’s actions regarding their recommendations.Citizens can access the portal through the official website of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and send their suggestions directly to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
