Government publishes toll rates for Nagdhunga tunnel road
Kathmandu-The Government of Nepal has officially announced the toll rates for vehicles using the Nagdhunga Tunnel Road. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport published the new tariff structure through a notice in the Nepal Gazette on Thursday. The decision was made by the Cabinet under the authority of Section 6(1) of the Road Board Act, 2002, with approval granted earlier on August 11, and has now come into effect following its publication.
According to the announced rates, cars, vans, pickups, tractors, microbuses, and other light vehicles will be charged NPR 65 when entering Kathmandu and NPR 60 when exiting. Similarly, mini buses and mini tipper trucks will be charged NPR 115 for entry and NPR 80 for exit, while buses and single rear axle trucks will pay NPR 260 upon entry and NPR 200 upon exit. For multi-axle trucks and heavy equipment vehicles, the toll has been set at NPR 600 for entry and NPR 250 for exit.
The government stated that the toll is being introduced as a usage fee to support the operation, maintenance, and long-term sustainability of the Nagdhunga Tunnel Road infrastructure.
