Kathmandu – Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal has said the government is prioritizing the engagement of the Nepali diaspora as an important partner in Nepal’s economic development and transformation.
Speaking at an interaction program organized by Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) and various Nepali diaspora organizations in the United States, Minister Khanal shared the government’s policies and priorities concerning Nepalis living abroad.
Khanal highlighted the potential of the diaspora’s knowledge, skills, capital, technology and global networks to contribute to Nepal’s economic development. He said the government is focused on creating stronger connections between Nepal and its diaspora to facilitate greater contributions to the country’s economic transformation.
According to Khanal, strengthening Nepal’s relationship with the Nepali diaspora and effectively mobilizing their expertise, resources and networks remain important government priorities.
He also emphasized the need to further strengthen cooperation between Nepal and Nepalis living abroad to support long-term economic development and transformation.
