HAN Diamond Jubilee: Hotel Expo–2026 to Spotlight Tech-Powered Hospitality
Kathmandu — The Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) is set to celebrate its Diamond Jubilee, marking 60 years of its establishment, with the organization of Hotel Expo–2026, a major hospitality-focused exhibition and conference centered on the theme of “Tech-Powered Hospitality.” The event will be held on January 16 and 17, 2026, in Kathmandu.
The Diamond Jubilee celebration aims to review six decades of HAN’s journey while highlighting achievements, challenges, and future opportunities in Nepal’s hotel and tourism industry. The annual Hospitality Day, observed for the past two years, will also be celebrated concurrently with the founding anniversary.
Two-Day Hotel Expo–2026 in Kathmandu
Hotel Expo–2026, the centerpiece of the Diamond Jubilee, will run for two days and is expected to bring together hoteliers, tourism entrepreneurs, policymakers, technology providers, and national and international experts. According to HAN, the expo will feature more than 50 stalls showcasing hotel supplies, equipment, services, and technology solutions essential for modern hospitality operations. Several corporate houses and service providers are participating as sponsors, reflecting growing interest in Nepal’s expanding hospitality market.
Focus on Tech-Powered Hospitality and Digital Transformation
This year’s theme, “Tech-Powered Hospitality,” underscores the increasing importance of digital transformation in the hotel sector. HAN stated that the expo and conference sessions will focus on hotel automation, technology-enabled management systems, artificial intelligence, and data-driven services designed to enhance efficiency and guest experience.
Special sessions will explore the use of AI and automation in areas such as check-in and check-out processes, customer service through chatbots and virtual assistants, predictive maintenance, and personalized marketing and loyalty programs. National and international speakers will share global best practices and emerging trends, highlighting how technology is reshaping the hospitality industry worldwide.
Knowledge Sharing, Innovation, and Industry Dialogue
The event is expected to serve as a key platform for dialogue between hospitality professionals and the ICT community. Experts will discuss how software development, networking, automation, and AI solutions can directly contribute to service quality, operational efficiency, and competitiveness in Nepal’s hotel industry.
HAN believes that such discussions are timely, as Nepal’s hospitality sector continues to grow with the expansion of new hotels and the entry of international hotel brands, increasing both competition and global visibility.
Launch of Key Publications and Promotion of Local Cuisine
During the Diamond Jubilee celebration, HAN will unveil two major publications. The Nepal Hotel Year Book 2026 will provide comprehensive industry data, trends, and market analysis, while a special Food Book will document 60 traditional and indigenous dishes from all seven provinces of Nepal.
The culinary showcase aims to promote Nepal’s rich food heritage and offer authentic hospitality experiences to domestic and international guests attending the event. HAN stated that blending traditional culture with modern technology reflects a holistic vision for Nepalese hospitality.
Highlighting Economic Contribution and Honoring Industry Leaders
The Diamond Jubilee will also highlight the contribution of the hotel and tourism sector to Nepal’s national economy, particularly in employment generation, foreign exchange earnings, and international branding of Nepal as a tourism destination.
In addition, HAN will formally recognize individuals and institutions that have made significant contributions to the development of Nepal’s hotel and tourism industry. The association has called on partner organizations and stakeholders to collaborate in making the Diamond Jubilee and Hotel Expo–2026 a landmark national-level event.
HAN expressed confidence that the focus on innovation, technology, and collaboration through Hotel Expo–2026 will help prepare Nepal’s hospitality sector for the digital age while strengthening its competitiveness in the global tourism market.
