Kathmandu — Heavy traffic has been reported along the Dakshinkali–Pharping route as the Dashain travel rush increases across Kathmandu Valley.
The congestion is mainly linked to the increased movement of people ahead of Dashain, with many travellers leaving Kathmandu to return to their hometowns while others are travelling into the Valley for the festival.
The route has seen a noticeable rise in private and public vehicles as families make their way home for Dashain celebrations. The increased movement has added pressure to the road, resulting in slower traffic and delays along parts of the route.
Motorists and passengers travelling through the area are advised to allow extra travel time and follow traffic instructions as festive-season movement continues.
