Kathmandu – Himalaya Airlines is set to resume its direct flights between Kathmandu and Shanghai from October 12, restoring air connectivity between Nepal and China after a temporary suspension.
The airline will initially operate two flights per week on the Kathmandu–Shanghai route. According to the company, flights from Kathmandu to Shanghai will operate every Monday and Friday, while return flights from Shanghai to Kathmandu will be available every Tuesday and Saturday.
The resumption of the direct service is expected to strengthen connectivity between Nepal and China, providing a more convenient travel option for passengers, including tourists, business travellers and members of the Nepali and Chinese communities.
Himalaya Airlines stated that the renewed route will support the growth of tourism and contribute to strengthening people-to-people and economic ties between the two countries.
The airline had previously operated flights on the Kathmandu–Shanghai route, and the restart of services marks another step toward expanding international air connectivity between Nepal and China.
