Kathmandu – Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava paid a farewell call on Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal on Wednesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singha Durbar.
During the meeting, Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal congratulated Ambassador Naveen Srivastava on the successful completion of his tenure in Nepal. He appreciated Ambassador Srivastava’s contribution to further deepening the long-standing Nepal-India relationship and making bilateral cooperation more broad-based.
Minister Shishir Khanal highlighted the progress made between Nepal and India in key areas such as energy cooperation, trade, infrastructure development and connectivity. He also underlined the importance of the close people-to-people ties between the two neighbouring countries.
Referring to the recent devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River, Minister Shishir Khanal expressed gratitude for India’s solidarity and prompt assistance in search, rescue and relief efforts after the disaster.
Minister Shishir Khanal extended best wishes to Ambassador Naveen Srivastava for his future responsibilities and expressed confidence that he would continue to remain a good friend of Nepal.
Ambassador Naveen Srivastava thanked the Government of Nepal for its support and cooperation during his tenure. He also expressed belief that Nepal-India relations would continue to grow stronger and more prosperous in the days ahead.
