Innovista 2.0 Highlights Student Innovation with 55+ AI and Robotics Projects
Kathmandu-More than 55 innovative technology projects developed by students are being exhibited at Presidential Innovista 2.0, a two-day technology and business expo hosted by the Presidential Graduate School, affiliated with Westcliff University, USA.The exhibition features projects created by around 170 students across a wide range of fields, including artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, software development and digital technologies. Organisers say the event is designed to bridge the gap between academic innovation and industry by connecting students with entrepreneurs, investors and potential startup opportunities.

The showcase is divided into five technology categories: Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision, IoT and Robotics, Cyber Village, Software, and Technoversity.Among the featured innovations are a flower-showering FPV drone, a robotic football player, a music-synchronised dancing robot, and an AI-based emotion recognition system that recommends music based on users’ facial expressions. Students have also developed cybersecurity solutions to tackle issues such as cyber fraud, data breaches and banking security.
Other exhibits include a smart irrigation system, a smart home equipped with gas leak detection and automatic shut-off technology, tourism promotion software, and a remote-controlled vehicle fitted with a 360-degree camera. Organisers said the projects demonstrate practical technology solutions for sectors including agriculture, tourism, business and public safety.Laxman KC, Founder and Executive Chairperson of Presidential Graduate School, said the projects have been developed with commercialization in mind.
“Our objective is to prove that globally competitive innovations can be created in Nepal,” he said, adding that the institution’s Business Incubation Center will help promising ideas grow into market-ready products and startups.The event also includes the Technoversity Pavilion, where more than 34 recent Grade 12 graduates are displaying innovation projects developed within a week under the mentorship of university students. Winners in this category will receive cash prizes of up to Rs 100,000.
According to Kalpana Gurung, Director and Principal of the school, Innovista provides young innovators with a platform to showcase their talents while opening doors to higher education, employment and entrepreneurship.The exhibition is open to the public free of charge.
