Jumla – After receiving Dashain tika, farmers in Jumla have returned to their fields to harvest Kalo Marsi, the region’s treasured indigenous rice variety.
The golden fields of Lamra in Tatopani Rural Municipality are now filled with harvest activity. Cultivated for generations in Jumla’s high-altitude climate, Kalo Marsi remains an important part of the district’s agricultural heritage, local identity and rural livelihood.
The photographs captured by Soraj Shahi shows the terraced rice fields after harvesting, marking the annual transition from Dashain celebrations to the busy farming season.
