The Emergency Response Console addresses critical situations such as health crises, security threats, fires, and other disasters. It enables swift action by identifying the incident’s location and dispatching rescue teams promptly. Complementing this, the ‘Kata Ho’ app empowers residents to report emergencies directly to the municipality. With its ‘Citizen’s Eye’ feature, users can also provide feedback on municipal services and highlight local issues.
Mayor Maharjan emphasized the role of technology in enhancing municipal services, describing the system as a vital step toward community welfare. Developed under the guidance of researcher Ram-Lakshman Rimala, the initiative includes training sessions to ensure efficient use of the system.
Local leaders and officials, present at the launch, praised the initiative’s potential to improve disaster response and service delivery. With plans to register detailed address information across wards, the municipality aims to streamline emergency assistance further.
Tarkeshwor Municipality envisions the system as a tool for greater transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement, marking the beginning of its technological advancements in governance.
