Kathmandu — Maitidevi Temple has taken on a festive appearance during Dashain, drawing large numbers of devotees who have gathered to worship Goddess Maitidevi and observe traditional religious rituals.
The temple has been decorated with colourful lights and festive decorations, creating a vibrant atmosphere as devotees visit during the major festival. The temple premises also underwent cleaning, painting and beautification work ahead of Dashain.
Maitidevi is one of the important Shakti shrines in Kathmandu, and the number of visitors traditionally increases during Navaratri and Dashain. Devotees visit the temple to offer prayers and receive blessings from the goddess during the festival.
On Maha Ashtami, observed on October 18 this year, devotees began arriving at the temple from the early morning. Special worship and traditional rituals were performed as part of the Dashain celebrations, attracting a significant crowd.
The increased religious activity and festive lighting have added to the atmosphere around the temple, making Maitidevi one of the prominent religious sites in Kathmandu during Dashain.
The celebrations at Maitidevi reflect the continuing importance of religious traditions, worship and community participation during Nepal’s biggest annual festival.
