Melamchi Water Pipeline Bursts in Babarmahal, Flooding Streets and Disrupting Traffic

Kathmandu, Feb 12 – A major pipeline of the Melamchi Drinking Water Project burst in Babarmahal on Monday, causing flooding in the area and disrupting traffic flow.
According to eyewitnesses, the burst occurred in the afternoon, sending large volumes of water gushing onto the streets. Pedestrians and motorists faced difficulties navigating the flooded roads.
This incident has once again highlighted concerns about the durability of Kathmandu’s water distribution infrastructure. Residents have called for stronger preventive measures to avoid similar occurrences in the future.
