Ministry of Education launches career counseling website for students
Kathmandu: The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has launched a “Career Counseling” website. The ministry has stated that the website will provide information on careers and professions based on students’ interests and abilities. The website contains necessary information for students, parents, teachers, and local authorities.
According to Sumana Shrestha, Minister of Education, Science and Technology of Nepal, students can visit the website to get information and assistance about careers according to their interests. The website includes information on scholarships, higher education, and technical education, and consolidates information from various government bodies for students in one place.
The ministry aims to help students, who are confused about what to become, what to study, and which profession to choose, through this website. Minister Shrestha says, “This website will help students choose their education based on their interests, find scholarship opportunities, and learn about various professions.”
Students can also read and watch inspirational stories of people in society on the website to help determine their career paths. By participating in the questionnaire on the website, students can assess their abilities through “Career Assessment” and receive career suggestions. The website also includes e-learning websites for information on careers and employment.
