Lalitpur- Aloka, the internationally known “Peace Dog,” Bhikkhu Paññākāra Tuệ Nhân and fellow monks participated in a memorial and candlelight vigil at Patan Durbar Square on Friday, honouring victims of the devastating Bhotekoshi floods in Nepal.

The Walk for Peace relief delegation, representing the Hương Từ Loving Kindness Foundation and Aloka Peace Foundation, is visiting Nepal to support communities affected by the floods.

The delegation plans to travel to Nuwakot and Rasuwa to distribute food, medicines, clothing and other essential supplies to affected families. The team will also provide educational materials for children and support for animals impacted by the disaster.

The relief initiative brings together Sneha’s Care, Aloka Peace Foundation and Hương Từ Loving Kindness Foundation to assist flood-affected people and animals as communities continue their recovery.

The candlelight vigil offered a moment of remembrance for those who lost their lives and a message of solidarity with families still facing the consequences of the disaster.

The Walk for Peace relief delegation also participated in prayers at Swayambhunath Stupa in Kathmandu, praying for peace, healing and strength for communities affected by the devastating floods. The prayers reflected a message of compassion and solidarity with affected families as they continue to cope with loss and rebuild their lives.
The delegation said its visit was guided by compassion and a commitment to supporting affected communities. As it prepares to deliver relief materials, the team also highlighted the continuing need for assistance for both people and animals.
The visit underscores the role of humanitarian cooperation in bringing practical support and hope to communities recovering from natural disasters.
