NAST launches Digital Literacy Program for women educators in Bhaktapur
The Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) has launched a five-day program to empower women educators in Bhaktapur district with essential digital literacy skills. The initiative aims to enhance their digital proficiency, cybersecurity awareness, and social media navigation.
A total of 21 women teachers from 14 schools have participated in the camp, organized in collaboration with Women in Information Technology (WIIT) and supported by Shree Padma Secondary School, Engineers with Border, Ashakaji Basukala Memorial Foundation, and Scholar Education Institute (SEI).
The program features practical training and access to digital resources via a mobile training unit equipped with laptops, smartboards, projectors, and Wi-Fi. This effort is part of the Science and Technology Information System Centre (STISC)-Information Access Centre under NAST, which has used its ‘Mobile Information Access Bus’ for three years to bridge the digital divide in Nepal.
