The Nepalese government, under the National Nutrition Program, is organizing a free nationwide distribution of Vitamin A supplements and deworming tablets (Juka ko aaushadi) on Kartik 2 and 3 (18 and 19 Oct). This initiative targets children between the ages of 6 months to 5 years for Vitamin A and 1 year to 5 years for deworming tablets. The program is aimed at combating malnutrition and parasitic infections among young children.
The campaign also includes provisions for children who miss their regular dosage. Children up to 15 months old can receive their missed doses from the nearest health center. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of this free service for the well-being of their children.
For further information, citizens are advised to contact Female Community Health Volunteers or visit their nearest health facility or ward office. This initiative is being conducted by the Nepal Government’s Ministry of Health and Population in collaboration with the National Health Education, Information, and Communication Center.
