Kathmandu – Ncell has partnered with Cimex Inc., the authorized distributor of BYD Auto Industry Co. Ltd. in Nepal, to introduce connected vehicle services powered by Ncell’s Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity.
Under the partnership, compatible BYD vehicles delivered through BYD Nepal will come with an embedded Ncell IoT SIM, allowing direct internet access inside the vehicle without requiring a mobile hotspot.
The connectivity will support the BYD App ecosystem and in-car infotainment services such as YouTube, Spotify, Karaoke and other online features, depending on the vehicle model, software version and service availability in Nepal.
Ncell said the partnership strengthens its growing IoT portfolio and supports the wider adoption of connected technologies in Nepal. The company expects the service to improve convenience, infotainment, security and navigation for BYD users.
The service will not be limited to new vehicles. Existing BYD owners will also be able to visit designated BYD Authorized Service Centres across 13 locations in Nepal to install an Ncell IoT SIM in supported vehicles.
Ncell Chief Consumer Business Officer Upanga Dutta said the partnership will enable smarter connectivity and a smoother digital driving experience, while Cimex Inc. CEO Sahil Shrestha said reliable in-vehicle connectivity will help customers make better use of BYD’s intelligent features.
Specific data plans, validity periods and charges will depend on the vehicle or service package.
