Ncell Foundation announces 19 grants for 19 community projects
The Ncell Foundation has launched a new initiative, 19 Grants for 19 Projects, inviting non-profit organizations across Nepal to apply for funding that aims to make a tangible impact at the grassroots level. The initiative is part of Ncell Foundation’s mission to ‘Leave No One Behind’ and aims to address various social causes that align with the needs of local communities.
Driving Positive Change
The Foundation is committed to driving social initiatives that bring lasting change to the lives of Nepali people. By supporting local communities, the Foundation hopes to foster strong connections and create meaningful transformations through targeted projects.
Community Project Modality
Organizations can apply for grants aimed at solving local problems with local solutions. Each selected project will receive seed funding of Rs. 10 lakh, which must be utilized in collaboration with local governments. The initiative is open to non-profit organizations that propose projects benefiting any of the provinces in Nepal.
Primary Focus Areas
The grants are focused on three key areas:
- Education: Projects that enhance educational opportunities for disadvantaged groups. This includes support for community schools, literacy programs, STEM education, and training for teachers.
- Health: Initiatives that improve access to quality healthcare, including health awareness programs, provision of medical equipment, and health camps for marginalized communities.
- Environment: Environmental conservation projects that align with sustainability goals, such as promoting climate action, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting green campaigns.
Secondary Focus Areas
Additional focus will be on:
- Disaster Response and Preparedness: Projects that strengthen community resilience to natural disasters like floods, landslides, and earthquakes.
- Livelihood Support: Skill development and income-generating programs for low-income individuals, women, and marginalized communities.
- Promoting Nepalese Art, Culture, and Literature: Projects that preserve and promote Nepal’s rich cultural heritage.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for a grant, organizations must:
- Be not-for-profit entities.
- Have a proven track record in community development.
- Demonstrate leadership, financial management skills, and the capacity to implement the proposed project effectively.
