Nepal Cricket Enters a New Chapter as NPL Season 2 Begins

Kathmandu, November 18, 2025 – Siddhartha Bank Nepal Premier League (NPL) second edition, starting from today at 4pm onward, will mark the beginning of a new chapter in Nepal’s cricket history.For the first time in Nepal’s cricket history, matches will be played under floodlights, with proper parapet seating arranged for spectators. What many had only dreamed of is now becoming reality.

Nepali cricketers will play day–night matches under the lights, while fans will watch the action comfortably from the stands. With the second edition of the Siddhartha Bank Nepal Premier League (NPL) starting today, a new chapter begins in Nepali cricket.

Players, CAN officials, cricket supporters, and Nepalis everywhere are ready to witness this historic moment. While the first edition of the NPL was played only in daylight, this second edition will feature 23 day–night matches out of a total of 32, all under floodlights.

The floodlights and parapet were officially handed over to CAN just this Sunday. Now, defending champions Janakpur Bolts will begin their title defense on Monday against Kathmandu Gorkhas under these very lights. As before, eight franchise teams will compete in this edition of the NPL.
