Nepal Insurance Authority Directs Insurers to Expedite Claims and Submit Weekly Damage Reports
Kathmandu – The Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA) has instructed all non-life and micro non-life insurance companies to promptly process claims arising from the widespread damage caused by recent adverse events across the country.
In a notice dated 26 Bhadra 2082 (September 11, 2025), NIA acknowledged significant losses in both the public and private sectors following the difficult conditions that began on 23 Bhadra 2082 (September 8, 2025). To support affected policyholders, insurers have been urged to settle claims as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The directive also requires insurance companies to submit detailed reports of claims related to the incident every Wednesday. The data must be uploaded in the prescribed Excel format through the Google Form link provided by the Authority.
The notice, signed by Director Kundan Sapkota, emphasizes the importance of swift action to help individuals and businesses recover from the damages and maintain public confidence in the insurance sector.
