6th Nepal Pride Parade: A nationwide celebration of love and equality
The Nepali LGBTQ+ community celebrated the vibrant ‘Nepal Pride Parade’ in various locations across Nepal, including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Hetauda, Chitwan. Marchers carried colorful banners and flags from Shanti Batika to Narayanchaur, promoting equal rights and acceptance.
Hundreds of members of marginalized sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex characteristics (PoMSOGIESC) annually organize the parade on the second Saturday of June. The event highlighted ongoing struggles and recent progress in LGBTQ+ rights in Nepal. As June is globally recognized as Pride Month, various identity groups within the community marked this special occasion with joy and unity. The parade underscored the importance of love, acceptance, and equality for all.
