Nepal Telecom Launches Online SIM Replacement Service for Lost or Damaged SIM Cards
Kathmandu-Nepal Telecom has launched a new online service that allows customers to apply for a replacement SIM card if their existing SIM has been lost or damaged.
According to Nepal Telecom spokesperson Kamal Lamichhane, the service has been introduced as part of the company’s efforts to expand digital services, simplify service delivery, and develop a more customer-friendly system.
Under the new system, customers can submit an application through Nepal Telecom’s electronic service portal by providing the required information to request either a new physical SIM card or an eSIM as a replacement for their lost or damaged SIM.
Once the application process is completed, customers can collect the new SIM card from the designated service center either in person or through an authorized representative. Nepal Telecom said the provision allowing representatives to collect SIM cards has been introduced while ensuring customer privacy and security.
The initiative aligns with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s reform agenda, which prioritizes improving Nepal Telecom’s service quality, strengthening customer service, and expanding digital services.
In line with these priorities, Nepal Telecom said it has been implementing programs focused on enhancing mobile service management, simplifying administrative procedures, and expanding customer-centric digital services.
