Nepal wins Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel Award at World Travel Market 2024
Under the leadership of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Nepal participated in the “World Travel Market 2024 (WTM)” held in London from November 5 to 7, 2024 (Kartik 20-22, 2081). The country’s participation highlighted its position as a premier destination for adventure, culture, and sustainable tourism.
This year marked Nepal’s 40th anniversary at WTM, solidifying its long-standing commitment to the global tourism industry. The event, which drew over 43,000 attendees from 184 countries, provided a platform for Nepal to capitalize on its recent recognition as a “Best in Travel” destination for 2024 by Lonely Planet.
Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board, emphasized the strategic importance of WTM “Our presence here strengthens Nepal’s position among top international destinations. This opportunity will foster new business prospects and connections with environmentally conscious travelers interested in Nepal’s rich culture, stunning natural landscapes, and eco-friendly tourism offerings.”
Nepal’s participation at WTM included a diverse range of stakeholders, from travel companies to hotels and resorts. By showcasing the country’s unique blend of adventure, spirituality, and cultural heritage, Nepal aims to attract a wider international audience and further solidify its position as a must-visit destination.
