Nepali Cinematographer Siddhartha Shakya Named International Jury Member for NAIFF 2026
Kathmandu: Renowned Nepali cinematographer Siddhartha Shakya has been selected as a member of the international jury for the Nepal America International Film Festival (NAIFF) 2026, a significant recognition for Nepal’s film industry on the global stage.
The festival, taking place from June 25–28 in Maryland, USA, announced its jury panel, which includes Lisa M. Hodsoll, Nina Streich, Vanessa D’Anthony, Rebecca Bustamante, and Siddhartha Shakya.
Widely regarded as one of Nepal’s leading cinematographers, Shakya has built an impressive career working on numerous acclaimed Nepali and international film projects. His cinematography for the critically acclaimed Nepali film Ujeli earned widespread praise, further establishing him as one of the country’s most accomplished visual storytellers.
Over the years, Shakya has collaborated on a range of international productions, gaining recognition for his artistic vision and technical excellence. His appointment to the NAIFF 2026 jury highlights the growing global recognition of Nepali filmmaking talent and reflects the increasing presence of Nepalese film professionals in the international cinema community.

The Nepal America International Film Festival, organized annually by the Nepal America Film Society, celebrates independent cinema while promoting cultural exchange through film. This year’s screenings and events will be held at Greenbelt Cinema, AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center, and Brentwood Arts Exchange in Maryland.
