New Parliament Hall nears completion ahead of Budget speech
Kathmandu: The new House of Representatives hall inside the under-construction Federal Parliament building at Singha Durbar has reached the final stage of construction, with preparations underway to host the national budget speech on May 29.
Officials have intensified work at the site to make the new assembly hall operational before the constitutional deadline for the annual budget presentation. Installation of seating arrangements, sound systems, lighting and other technical infrastructure is currently being completed.
The new hall is expected to become the primary venue for parliamentary proceedings once construction is finalized. At present, House meetings are being conducted from a temporary hall within the Parliament premises.
The Federal Parliament building project, which has faced repeated delays and deadline extensions since construction began, is now being expedited to ensure readiness for one of the country’s most significant parliamentary events.
