New trekking route established in Dhaulagiri region
A new trekking route connecting Todke, Jhi pakhapani, Kotgaun, Rayekhor, and Mulpani to Ghyasikharka has been established in the Dhaulagiri Sanctuary. This route is gaining popularity as an alternative to traditional trekking paths that were disrupted by the construction of the Beni-Jomsom road.
According to Rajesh Shakya, Senior Vice President of the Myagdi Chamber of Commerce, the Todke-Dhaulagiri Panorama and Dhaulagiri Sanctuary trekking routes offer a great opportunity for tourists to explore the region. Krishna Prasad Acharya, President of the Trekking Association of Gandaki, emphasized the potential of this new route, which includes the base camp of Dhaulagiri, the seventh highest mountain in the world, to attract visitors to Gandaki Province.
The Nepal Tourism Board and the Gandaki Province Office in Pokhara have been actively promoting Todke. Kundan Mishra, Senior Officer of the Tourism Board, stated that they have created a booklet for distribution in Pokhara hotels and utilized social media for digital marketing.
To further enhance tourism in the region, residents of Todke and Jhi pakhapani have established a development fund and successfully organized the Gurans Festival twice. They have also undertaken initiatives for road construction and private investment.
