The National Forum of Photo Journalists (NFPJ) Nepal has announced a photo exhibition on the theme of the Himalayas. Scheduled to take place on August 19 at Patan Durbar Square in Lalitpur, the exhibition is being held in celebration of the 185th World Photography Day.
NFPJ Nepal, a collective organization of photojournalists across the country, has been actively working for the rights and interests of photojournalists for the past 27 years. In its continuous effort to promote the cultural, religious, and natural beauty of Nepal, the forum has previously published various images through its media outlets, contributing to the promotion of tourism in the country.
This year’s exhibition, titled “When Mountain Smiles,” aims to raise awareness about the impact of climate change on the Himalayas, with the region’s glaciers melting at an alarming rate. The event seeks to support the “Save the Himalayas” campaign and attract both domestic and international tourists to Nepal’s mountainous, cultural, and social landscapes.
NFPJ Nepal has called on all photojournalists and photographers to submit their Himalaya-themed photographs for the exhibition by August 13. The images should be in 12×18 size, with captions and dates clearly mentioned, and can be sent to the organization’s email at nfpjnepal2053@gmail.com.
