NFPJ to Host Solo Photo Exhibition by President Onta on World Photography Day
Kathmandu – The National Federation of Photojournalists (NFPJ Nepal) has announced plans to celebrate the 186th World Photography Day with a special photo exhibition in Kathmandu.
This year’s program will highlight a solo exhibition by NFPJ’s central president, Pradip Raj Onta, titled “FLIGHT & FRAME”. The exhibition is scheduled for August 19 (Bhadra 3) at the historic Hanumandhoka premises, and will be open from 2 PM to 7 PM.
According to the organizers, the exhibition will feature a unique collection of aerial photographs captured by Onta from a helicopter, offering rare perspectives of Nepal’s diverse landscapes. The images are expected to showcase mountains, valleys, and settlements from vantage points not often seen by the public, combining both artistic vision and journalistic depth.
NFPJ Nepal stated that the exhibition is intended not only to mark World Photography Day but also to promote the value of photojournalism and visual storytelling in Nepal. The federation has extended invitations to photojournalists, photographers, media professionals, and photography enthusiasts, encouraging broad participation in the event.
World Photography Day is observed annually on August 19 to celebrate the art, science, and history of photography. For NFPJ Nepal, the day has become an opportunity to recognize the contributions of Nepali photojournalists and to inspire appreciation for the power of images in society.
