Kathmandu, Nepal – Nepal Telecom (NTC) has streamlined eSIM activation, allowing customers to access the service directly through the NTC mobile app or website. This eliminates the need for visits to physical customer service centers. Users can now apply online by providing their phone number, verifying via OTP, and uploading photos of their citizenship card and a selfie. After verification, a QR code is provided for immediate eSIM activation.
The conversion from a physical SIM to an eSIM costs NPR 50, while a new eSIM costs NPR 140. This move by NTC simplifies the process and promotes the adoption of eSIM technology, which offers greater flexibility in managing mobile services. Customers should ensure their phones support eSIM functionality.
