KATHMANDU: Pakistan has announced emergency relief support for Nepal following the recent flash floods and landslides that have caused loss of lives and widespread damage in the country.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah and expressed his condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the disaster. He also expressed Pakistan’s support for the government and people of Nepal during this difficult time.
During the conversation, Sharif told Shah that Pakistan is sending emergency relief assistance to Nepal to support ongoing relief efforts in flood-affected areas. He assured Nepal that Pakistan stands with the country as rescue, relief and recovery work continues.
Prime Minister Shah thanked the Pakistani prime minister for his message of support and the offer of assistance.
The support comes as Nepal continues rescue and recovery operations in areas affected by floods and landslides. The disaster has damaged homes, roads, bridges and other infrastructure, while authorities and security teams continue working to help affected communities and search for missing people.
Pakistan’s announcement is part of the international support being extended to Nepal as the country works to provide immediate relief and begin recovery in disaster-hit areas.
