Kathmandu – Passport printing and distribution services have been affected after a bus caught fire in front of the Department of Passports premises, disrupting electricity and internet services at the department.
The Department of Passports issued a notice on Monday stating that the fire incident caused interruptions to power and internet services. The disruption has directly impacted the passport printing process, resulting in difficulties in distributing passports.
Considering the current situation, the department has requested applicants who have already submitted their passport applications to remain patient and cooperate while receiving the service.
According to the department, the process of collecting passport applications will continue as usual. The passport distribution service will also return to normal once the technical issues are resolved, the department stated.
