Kathmandu — The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter held its 47th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and 51st Anniversary celebration on September 25, 2026, at The Plaza in Lalitpur under the theme “Resilient Nepal.”
The AGM unanimously elected a new Executive Committee, with Narendra Deo Bhatta, Managing Director of Heritage Tours & Travel, as the new Chairman. Khem Lakai, who served as Chairman since June 6, 2024, will continue on the committee as Immediate Past Chairman.
The new leadership team also includes Romi Aryal as General Secretary and Prakash Chandra Lohani as Honorary Treasurer. Other Executive Committee members represent various sectors of Nepal’s tourism industry, including airlines, hotels, trekking, travel, hospitality and wildlife tourism.
During the anniversary ceremony, PATA Nepal Chapter also recognized six individuals for their courage, humanitarian efforts and contributions during the recent Bhotekoshi flood crisis and beyond. The honorees included Professor Arnold Dix, Captain Priya Adhikari, André Lüthi, Dylan Dugas, Rajendra Dawadi and Bikram Karki.
The event highlighted the tourism sector’s emphasis on resilience, cooperation and humanitarian support, while bringing together tourism professionals and industry leaders to discuss the future of Nepal’s tourism industry.
