Prabin Ranabhat wins Best Photo Award in Nepali Army Photo Competition
Prabin Ranabhat, a multimedia journalist from Bizmandu, has been awarded the first prize in the ‘Nepali Army Photo Competition 2081’ for his photograph depicting a rescue operation after a plane crash at Tribhuvan International Airport. The photo, which was also published in international media, secured first place in the non-military category.
Ashokraj Sigdel, Chief of Army Staff honored Ranabhat with a cash prize of NPR 50,000, a certificate, and a medal during a ceremony held on Monday.
The competition, organized by the Nepali Army’s Directorate of Public Relations and Information, was held to commemorate the 262nd anniversary of the Nepali Army. It featured photographs highlighting the army’s activities.
In the same category, Pranishan Rajbhandari and Saroj Baiju secured second and third places, receiving NPR 35,000 and NPR 25,000, respectively.
The Nepali Army has also organized a public exhibition showcasing all the photographs submitted for the competition, including the winning entries. The exhibition, aimed at providing civilians with a closer look at the army’s activities, will run from 28-31 January at no cost to visitors.
