Kathmandu – Roads in several parts of the country remained fully or partially blocked on Tuesday due to floods and landslides, according to police.
The main highways in Rasuwa remain completely obstructed. The Beni-Jomsom road at Baisari in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-2 of Myagdi has also not yet reopened.
In Manang, the Khangsar-Besisahar road section has resumed operation on only one side. The road was damaged by a flood on the night of September 25, affecting the route from Besisahar towards Khangsar.
Meanwhile, a landslide at Janti in Baudikali Rural Municipality-3 of Nawalparasi East has reduced the Kaligandaki Corridor to one-way traffic. Large vehicles are currently unable to pass through the affected section.
The highways in Rasuwa have remained closed since August 26 following floods. The Beni-Jomsom road has been affected by a landslide since September 26, while the Janti section of the Kaligandaki Corridor has been operating one-way since September 30.
Authorities have advised travellers to check road conditions before starting their journey, particularly along routes affected by recent floods and landslides.
