KATHMANDU – Construction company Sharma & Company and Sanjeevani Group have jointly provided NPR 1 crore 51 lakh to support rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts for communities affected by the recent floods.
The financial assistance was handed over to Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle at the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday. Sharma & Company Chairman Ramesh Sharma, Director Saurabh Sharma and Sanjeevani Group Director Raju Khati presented the contribution on behalf of the two organisations.
The support is intended to help people affected by severe flooding in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha, where the disaster caused loss of life, damage to property and disruption to local communities.
Representatives of Sharma & Company and Sanjeevani Group expressed concern over the impact of the disaster and said the assistance was provided as part of their social responsibility toward flood-affected families and communities.
The companies also said that rescue and rehabilitation of affected people should remain a top priority and called for continued cooperation from different sectors to support recovery efforts.
