Itahari: The government has started the ‘Skills and Employment Fair 2083’ in Itahari, Sunsari, with the aim of providing young people with practical skills and connecting them with employment opportunities.
Organized by the Ministry of Youth, Labour and Employment, the fair will run until Asoj 20. Speaker of the House of Representatives Dol Prasad Aryal is scheduled to inaugurate the event.
The opening session, chaired by Youth, Labour and Employment Minister Ramji Yadav, will feature Tharu cultural dance and Naumati Baja performances. A special panel discussion titled “Today’s Youth, Tomorrow’s Entrepreneur: SAARC Dialogue” will also be held to encourage young people toward entrepreneurship.
The main objective of the fair is to identify young people’s skills and establish direct connections with employers and training providers. Today, activities including trainee selection, group formation, skill profiling for job matching, and information and counselling services will be conducted from 12 pm to 5 pm.
From tomorrow until Asoj 19, five-day practical training programs will be conducted in 10 different trade areas. Exhibition stalls, counselling, referral services, job matching and entrepreneurship discussions will continue throughout the fair.
