Spring Festival Event Strengthens Sino-Nepal Ties
KATHMANDU: The “2026 Spring Festival Garden Party” was grandly held in Kathmandu, delivering a vibrant message of cultural celebration and friendship. The event took place at the premises of the Chinese Cultural Center in Nepal and was jointly organized by the Center and China Southern Airlines Kathmandu Office.

The program witnessed notable participation from members of both the Nepali and Chinese communities. Organized on the occasion of the Spring Festival, the event aimed to further strengthen people-to-people ties between Nepal and China, according to the organizers.

The celebration featured traditional Nepali and Chinese music and dance performances. Activities such as calligraphy demonstrations, photo exhibitions, Tai Chi, Shaolin Kung Fu, and presentations on intangible cultural heritage were also showcased. Guests enjoyed traditional Chinese cuisine and special festive delicacies, adding to the lively atmosphere of the event.

Among the distinguished attendees were Nepal’s Minister for Tourism and Culture Anil Kumar Sinha; Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming; Deputy Chief of Mission at the Chinese Embassy in Nepal Zhou Pan; and Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Nepal Liu Zhanping, along with other distinguished guests.

Organizers noted that the Spring Festival is one of China’s most important traditional celebrations and plays a significant role in enhancing cultural understanding and friendship among people from different countries. They expressed confidence that the program would contribute positively to cultural exchange, tourism promotion, and the expansion of people-to-people relations, and would further boost Sino-Nepal relations in the days ahead.
