Chiranjibi Adhikari Assumes as Acting President of CAN Federation
Kathmandu — Chiranjibi Adhikari has assumed the role of Acting President of the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation following the resignation of Sunaina Ghimire Pandey from the post of president.
Pandey resigned from her position citing personal reasons. She was elected president during the federation’s 15th General Convention in December 2024 and made history as the first woman to lead CAN Federation.
Her leadership was seen as an important milestone for women’s representation in Nepal’s information and communication technology sector. With around eight months still remaining in her tenure, her resignation has brought a leadership change within the federation.
Following her decision, Senior Vice President Chiranjibi Adhikari has now taken charge as Acting President. CAN Federation has not released further details regarding the circumstances behind Pandey’s resignation.
