The place where Dashain is never celebrated, Khokana embraces the Sikali Jatra!
The grand Sikali Jatra, one of the most significant festivals in Khokana, Lalitpur, was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Known as a village that does not celebrate Dashain, Khokana holds the Sikali Jatra as a key cultural event, celebrated from the day of Ghatasthapana to Navami.
Khokana residents do not celebrate Dashain because they believe the Jatra is older than Dashain. They honor the festival in their tradition and originality without exchanging Dashain Tika.
The festival is celebrated with prayers for peace in the hearts of every citizen and the nation, along with goddess dances based on the story of Shri Swasthani Bratakatha.
