TikTok moves to formalize its presence in Nepal
A popular video-sharing app, TikTok, is officially getting ready to start working in Nepal. The company submitted the necessary documents to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology two weeks ago, adhering to the government’s directives for social media platforms. This comes after a short time when TikTok was banned in Nepal.
To strengthen its presence, TikTok has hired a Public Policy Manager to handle government relations and ensure they follow Nepali laws. The government has also asked TikTok to help promote Nepal’s tourism and teach people about using technology.
