Kathmandu – Newly appointed US Chargé d’Affaires to Nepal Megan Bouldin paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal on Friday.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singha Durbar, where the two discussed the situation following the recent Bhotekoshi flood.

During the meeting, Bouldin expressed her deepest condolences to those affected by the disaster. She also conveyed the US government’s solidarity with the Government of Nepal and the Nepali people during the difficult period.
Bouldin said the United States was prepared to assist Nepal with relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts following the flood.

Foreign Minister Khanal thanked the US government and the American people for expressing solidarity with Nepal and offering assistance during the crisis.
He also expressed confidence that support from the US government would continue through Nepal’s relief and rehabilitation efforts and into the reconstruction phase.
