Yala Itilhan Samyak Mahadan at Nagbahal, Lalitpur concluded
The Samyak festival, also known as the Dipankar festival, which takes place at Nagbahal, Lalitpur, concluded yesterday. This cultural event, which occurs every five years, features a grand procession carrying a large statue of Dipankar Buddha from Patan Durbar Square to Nagbahal. Over two days, rituals and ceremonies take place at Nagbahal, where numerous statues of Dipankar Buddha are worshipped.
After the evening rituals, participants return home, eagerly awaiting the next Samyak festival in five years. Additionally, the tradition of celebrating the Samyak festival is deeply ingrained in the Buddhist communities of Kathmandu, Lalitpur (Patan), and Bhaktapur, with each locality having its unique significance.
