Skill Week 2025 concluded with Glocal Skill Hero Awards and CEO Unplugged
Skill Week 2025 concluded with a grand closing ceremony at The Soaltee Kathmandu on Monday, attended by renowned entrepreneurs, government diplomats, and over 100 aspiring enthusiasts. Organized by Glocal After School, an entity of Glocal Pvt. Ltd., the event showcased skilling opportunities and celebrated emerging talents.
Glocal Skill Hero Award 2025
Honoring excellence across four pillars—Art & Culture, Entrepreneurship, Tourism & Hospitality, and Science & Technology—four Skill Heroes were awarded:
- Sushant KC (Art & Culture): Renowned Nepali singer-songwriter celebrated for soulful music blending local and global influences.
- Aayushi KC (Entrepreneurship): Social entrepreneur and CEO of Khaali Sisi Management Pvt. Ltd., revolutionizing waste management in Nepal.
- Samir Thapa (Tourism & Hospitality): Founder of Silver Mountain School of Hotel Management, a pioneer in hospitality education in Nepal.
- Sanu Kaji Shrestha (Science & Technology): Innovator and founder of the Foundation for Sustainable Technologies, advancing eco-friendly solutions.
The event also hosted workshops, exhibitions, and competitions, engaging youth in dynamic learning experiences.
CEO Unplugged 2025: ‘Today Meets Tomorrow’
The tenth edition of CEO Unplugged took place alongside Skill Week, featuring a panel discussion on “Sustainable Future: Skills, Education, and Green Economy.” Esteemed panelists included:
- Veronique Lorenzo, EU Ambassador to Nepal
- Saurabh Jyoti, Director of Padma Jyoti Group
- Dumbar Sunwar, Chief of Skills & Training Division, Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security
Moderated by Prof. Stephen Driver of the University of Roehampton, the discussion highlighted integrating sustainability into workplaces and fostering partnerships to address skill gaps.
